Fishing for Snakeheads — Frankenfish and Fries, Please

What a shame that people think of new and unusual creatures as revolting things to be killed and thrown aside as dangerous garbage. Snakeheads are delicious, one of the best fish found in Asia in terms of texture and flavor. They aren’t greasy or sticky or disgusting, any more than a bass is before you fry it.

Starting the Spring Garden in Indiana 2012

In the middle of this crazy and beautiful strange weather, I have planted a garden . . . . As a gardener, I know this good fortune won’t last. The climate is just teasing us as yet, drawing us to plant so that hard freeze comes at exactly the wrong time, or setting us up for a terrible Spring drought. I may be planting everything all over again a month from now after the hail smashes everything flat. Last year in the cold and the wet I planted many things four times before I got anything to grow.
