Halves and Helicopters
i’ve stopped keeping a dream journal, so i want to get a few details down here simply because they were so strange.
i dreamed about a military group being interviewed for a news show. there was a lot of soft side to the story and they weren’t covering the most interesting aspect of this particular outfit- it was made up in part of ppl who’d been surgically divided in to two functioning halves. when i saw them, they had been allowed to adapt to their halving and were supergluing themselves back together in order to pass as normal and as a larger test to see how two independent beings would operate in what was now a cooperative body.
in a later dream i was in school and i’d become limitlessly attractive to men. there were a couple in particular who kept approaching me, a teacher and a singer. i made my way out of the school as i needed to get to a bar and pay my tab there (prolly from the book i’m reading). out in the quad there were several social situations i was pulled into until one group all in black began to hear an odd noise. it was a helicopter. it flew overhead, seemingly with nothing alarming about its flight, yet we were all alarmed and watching. it doubled back and dropped low enough to frighten us, then even lower, making a turn around a city corner that would have killed approaching drivers if there had been any. it rose and fell purposefully for a couple of blocks, then we all began screaming before we could know, but we did know, it intended to hit a building. it slammed into the top/side of a bank building. it wasn’t a usual helicopter but one of those kind with the metal scaffolding sort of tail section. also, the bank looked like a familiar one but the number 40 stood out starkly.
i doubt that this dream unlike some of j’s is an actual depiction of anything. i do think the symbols have meaning.
