Week One Ends- Not A Moment Too Soon

Interval Training session one is ovah! Woo! Actually, woo… I’m too tired to cheer. I was tired on the warmup. We did 6 intervals of 30 seconds duration and walking recovery. Jesus. I think I still can’t breathe. Each one was completely different. Funny how that happens. We ran a one mile warmup, then we did a couple on hills, a couple on flats, a couple mixed. I thought (obviously before we began) that it wouldn’t be enough, that we’d run home. The trainer site I consulted to learn about this warned we’d be tired. It was right. My partner asked if we were doing three minute sprints. I nearly bit his head off. In my defense, it was when I was struggling to maintain the warmup pace.

My first sprint, my right foot had something pull or pull loose, but it righted itself and wasn’t a problem for the remainder. From about midway through and clear till now, my hamstrings have been threatening to lock up. And I had a pain in my right groin after the last sprint, but everything seems to be normal wear and tear or fading. My right heel is a little tight, but considering the state my feet have been in, I’ll accept it.

I calculated my Resting Metabolic Rate. It falls somewhere between 1461 and 1526 calories. Later, during a couch coma, I will check my Resting Heart Rate.

I like to drink a recovery mixture of a banana, vegan protein mix, rice milk and flavorings. I tend to use nutmeg, a little sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
