Sugar
We saw a tv show about a kid’s mom who went crazy without her candy and began to eat all of the sugar in the house and drink the maple syrup. That is me! You have to eat everything because none of it is candy and it isn’t the same.
J had a sweet tooth. His sweet tooth fell out, he swallowed it and it went down to his stomach. And that is why he can’t eat much of sugar and gets a stomach ache when he does.
See, every person is given a lifetime allotment for sugar eatin. Jimmy et all of his by age 9 1/2. He lived on marshmallows and brown sugar lumps from age 2 to age 9 1/2. One day, his parents left home and he was alone in the house. He systematically ate his way through the kitchen.
First he ate all of the lumps out of the brown sugar, then he ate as much of the honey as he could stand, then he ate spoon after spoon of sorghum and topped it all off with white sugar because time was running out and his family was due home at any moment.
When his family arrived home, there he was, out on the porch, head hanging, drooling uncontrollably. They said nothing and went inside. I picture his father saying to his mother, “The boy isn’t on the roof and he’s wearing pants. Let’s just keep walking.”
He often ran out of lumps in the sugar and had to make some himself. He says they were never quite the same.
