Of Things Sharp in Tooth and Nail

We had to get rough again today with dogs and dog owners. Once again out on the course, we were set upon by hounds and once again my partner had to wield his trusty stick. This caused the dog in question to reel from a solid bonk on the head and his owner to emerge to yell at us to not hit her dogs. Which led to a brief shouting match over the law and self defense. This particular family knows their dogs come out to harass us, they simply choose to ignore the behavior and leave the animals run most of the time. The man of the house will at least call them off. The woman had to be standing and watching the beasts mob us to see what happened, which makes it even more her fault and responsibility.

Of course J was angry and upset over the whole thing. We shouldn’t have to fend off morons or the pets of morons, but that seems to be one price of daring to use our own local roads. Next time it will be the hot stick of my pepper spray and she can let the little darlings back inside with an unpleasant accompanying aroma.

This is why we have a system of laws. Always there’s someone who believes themselves exempt. Out here, it is most who believe so.

I was quite proud of him for handling the dogs and I leapt to his defense with the human half of the problem. Maybe this time the lesson will stick, with the owner if not the dogs.

I have added to my collection of piercings and of course the thing is immediately infected and inflamed. Eh, days of cream and not even thinking of removing the ring and it will all be fine. These damned small rings are nearly impossible to get in the fresh hole and oh, there was blood, but I was not about to quit midway. The new sterile super sharp needles are fantastic.
