Savory Apple Quick Snack
Apples are the basis for some of the best snacks I’ve ever enjoyed. They don’t have to be boring. It is easy to dress them up in a simple, healthy manner for a variety of flavors–and it all takes about a minute.
Wash the apple. Use a dirty knife to cut it. By dirty, I mean one you have used to prep garlic or slice onions. This coats the cut surface with a slight sheen of savory flavor. That is transferred to the surface of the fruit. Then, spread on fresh, ground peanut butter.
Garlic (or onion) and peanut butter make a great pairing for a sandwich, too. If you ever feel a cold coming on, a raw garlic and pb sandwich will clean out your sinuses and even your lungs. It can be a painful treatment if you get a particularly stout clove, but the results are worth the momentary discomfort.
