Last Restaurant (Concept) Standing: The Last Episode I’ll Ever See

Congratulations to the winners of Last Restaurant Concept Standing, the show that was once about cooking and front of house skills and now is a complete mockery of both. I called it early and was proven right.

For treating the audience like fools and trying to explain away the reasoning behind not only keeping and promoting, but protecting and covering for the pair who have no business in the competition, let alone the restaurant business, I am through with the show.

For anyone who still carried doubts that J.J. and James were picked to be the winners from early on and carried through, note the desperate efforts to pick apart minute details of the other team’s performance while the flaws and major disasters of team 3J were nearly ignored completely.

Despite a flawless performance in the last challenge, they were defeated, and the look on Nathan and partner’s faces said it all–shock and dismay–exactly what I feel with what has become of a once favorite show.

Narrate and interview in all of the excuses you like, Raymond and production team. We are not new to this program. If you want to create a new show where concept is king, fine. I wish you all the luck in the world. It can be a one-episode series where people can pitch to you and a winner can be selected and we can all save the wasted time. But that is not and has never been the point of this show. Shame on you.

I can’t even wish the unpleasantness to come in the kitchen and front of house upon you, because you’ll pass these empty shells off to your employees to teach, if anyone bothers to work with them at all. Why not dismiss them early on and buy their concept from them in a side deal?

I’ve lost respect for the program and for everyone involved. Following the finale with a promotion for a return visit to prior winners, ones we watched sweat blood for their achievements, is a slap in the face.
