Look, Tiger, you've just dumped one of the most moral belief systems in history and blamed it for what rational people would consider your own weaknesses. That's just wrong. However you approach Buddhism, morality is a part of it. Either you adopt the moral approach and hold to the tenets of the Middle Path, learning the rewards and punishments of karma; or you take the Tantric road and tackle the problem of enlightenment outside of moral standards. Either way, if you're really Buddhist you evolve toward what others see as moral behavior, just for slightly different reasons. If you didn't get there don't blame the rest of us.
If you decided to enjoy the carnal delights and ran headfirst into the baseball bat of karma because of that, don't think giving up Buddhism and meditation will clear your slate. You've got to do that yourself. Karma's not done with you and deciding it wasn't your fault is not the way to pay it off. Whoever told you there are no consequences for screwing up your life wasn't on the right track.
But hey, no hard feelings and good luck with your new religion there. Do the rest of us a favor and leave us out of the justification of your attempt to recover financial reward in your life. You seem to have missed the point about not clinging to possessions, too.
Looks like you just thought you were a Buddhist.
